Artist Bio
Craig Martin is a practicing artist, mural painter, actor, presenter, and podcaster (ART TAP, @ArtTapPodcast). He has exhibited regionally and received the Individual Artist Program grant from the Indiana Arts Commission.
His work includes mixed media drawings, consisting of acrylic, (primarily) pastel, and conté pencil on wood panel or paper. The panels range in size from 6 x 6 inches to 24 x 24 inches. Drawings are created through both direct observation and photo reference, but emphasis is always on a creative use of color to expand upon the “natural” view and reflect an active, reflexive, and interrelated color system. Expressive use of color, primarily through pastel pigments, has been utilized to reflect the fleeting nuances of light and gesture in the natural world.
